about

'Bridges' is the fourth single to be released in advance of our debut album 'Separate Sides' which will be out on 2nd December 2022.

"Lyrically it deals with the struggles and pitfalls of relationships, communication and navigating life in general. But I think you can draw a parallel between a romantic relationship and being in a band, there are a lot of emotions and energy involved. A lot of it is beautiful and very positive, but sometimes it's like swimming against the tide.

Please check out the video on YouTube. It's very much a celebration of the live shows we have played around the UK over the last year, since our freedom to play live music was restored in July 2021. There's an underlying connection between this and the mood of the song that I think works really well, snatching a victory from the jaws of defeat, or at least mild adversity!"

lyrics

Life’s a joke without a punchline
Laughter breaks the silence
In the theatre of time
We turn to face ourselves
Whilst looking in a broken mirror
Where is the love tonight?

We grasp the ropes until
We think we found a stronger foothold
But life throws curveballs in our way
As I duck and dive
Around the words you’re hurling at me
Wondering why things seemed so simple
Yesterday

And I’m sinking gasping for air
There’s a lifeboat, way over there
And we build our bridges just to burn them down
And stay on separate sides
Til we can get it right

If love is war then words
Push daggers through a thousand moments
Each one kills a piece of mind
And love and hate collide
In all the colours of the rainbow
Wondering why, wondering how,
Wondering where to hide

And I’m sinking gasping for air
There’s a lifeboat, but I bathe in despair
And we build our bridges just to burn them down
And stay on separate sides
Til we can get it right

I’m so tired of this fight
I can’t sleep when you turn out the light
Where is the love?
Where is the love tonight?

Sinking gasping for air
There’s a lifeboat, way over there
And we build our bridges just to burn them down
And stay on Separate sides, Hey!

Sinking gasping for air
There’s a lifeboat, but I’m too gone to care
And we build our bridges just to burn them down
And stay on separate sides
We can get it…
Get it right, get it right, get it right
